Santa Rosa Pest Inspection
Reveals Termites, Dry Rot, and Rodent Activity

Today our team at Nature Pacific Pest Services completed a pest inspection for a real estate transaction in Santa Rosa, California. This inspection focused on identifying wood destroying organisms as well as other structural and pest issues that could affect the property’s condition and value.
Wood Destroying Organism Findings
The inspection revealed multiple areas of concern related to wood destroying organisms that will need to be addressed to protect the home. These included
- Subterranean termites actively present and damaging wood structures
- Dry rot found on trim, fascia boards, and door frames
- Surface fungus growing in the crawlspace caused by moisture issues
- Cellulose debris left in the crawlspace which can attract termites
- Moisture in the soil under the home where a vapor barrier is highly recommended to help control humidity and prevent further fungus growth
Each of these issues if left untreated can lead to serious damage over time and costly repairs down the road.
al pests like rodents, mice, rats, spiders, ants, wasps, or roaches. These fall under a separate pest control license (Branch 2), whereas wood-destroying organism inspections fall under Branch 3 licensing.

Additional Non-WDO Findings

Beyond wood destroying organisms, the inspection also uncovered several additional concerns that should be addressed to maintain the home’s integrity
- Rodent activity in the crawlspace which requires rodent exclusion repairs
- Caulking and exterior paint breaking down leaving the structure vulnerable to moisture intrusion
- Chimney cap rusted and missing screen which can allow birds and bats to enter the chimney
We strongly recommend a full exterior perimeter paint job to reseal and protect the home’s exterior surfaces from future moisture damage.
